One of the biggest events at the 2011 Beachbody® coach summit is the announcement of the new P90X iphone app scheduled for a November release date. I had an exclusive look at this slick, new app that all P90X fans are sure to want! Unfortunately, I have no pictures or videos to share since we were instructed not to take footage of this hot product. However, I took tons of notes about its features and will do my best to recount them here.
Let me start off by saying that Beachbody® really took their time to make sure this was a top notch product. It has so many features that fans are going to rave about and I can’t wait to get my hands on this app. Unfortunately, I can’t discuss price either but I will say that the user has the option to purchase “packages” or “singles” of the P90X workouts so you can take the P90X workouts with you anywhere, anytime! These packages are separate from the standard P90X app.
The P90X iphone app is now available!

Superdave what does the P90X app have!?!
Okay, here we go! First of all, it has what you expect in that it provides a complete system for tracking and logging your P90X workouts. Naturally, you can easily put in your reps and weight for every P90X exercise, but the app also has an extensive charting features. You can view graphs of your progress to spot trouble areas and/or where you are excelling with the workouts. Beachbody® also has achievement badges for your workouts which I felt was a nice touch. Not only is this sure to help motivate people to succeed with their workouts, but they can be shared via Facebook, Twitter, etc.
Another nice feature are the demonstrations that Tony provides. Are you confused by a particular P90X move? Are you struggling with the bands on an exercise? Simply play one of the demo videos and Tony will show you how to execute the move in perfect P90X fashion. Plus, the app comes with audio guidance for the experienced P90Xers that don’t need to follow the video.
In addition to the accountability platform, the P90X iphone app has a nutritional tracker too. For example, if you are following the P90X Portion plan, you can easily plug in your blocks for the day. Pretty sweet, huh? That way wherever you are, you can stay on track with your nutrition plan.
I bet you’re rather impressed now, right? But there’s more! You can also do remote WOWY logins! If you don’t know what the WOWY is (Work Out With You), its the daily workout accountability platform at Teambeachbody. Everyday Beachbody® awards tons of prizes like $300 cash, ipod touches, digital cameras, netbooks, etc just for working out! Plus 1 lucky winner wins $1000 each week! For details on the WOWY click here and hit the Daily Sweepstakes on the left hand menu.
Finally, the P90X app allows a user to browse the TeamBeachbody® Shop site so you can order your supplies on the go. Are you low on P90X Recovery Drink? No problem, just order from your phone! There is one caveat, for the order to go thru you must be connected to a wi-fi network. Beachbody® is looking into getting around that. So if you place an order, but don’t receive the product–don’t say I didn’t warn you!
Overall, this is a must have for all P90X fans! The price of the standard app is affordable and the quality and the intuitiveness of the app is sure to please everyone. So check in with my website for the actual release date and order your awesome P90X iphone app!

August has come and gone. Any word on a new release date?
Unfortunately, Beachbody is very quiet about the iphone app. My guess is that the Apple/Beachbody negotiation details are still be worked out. I will be blasting the announcement of its release, for sure!

September, October come and gone and still no word! Update?
Apple still hasn’t “approved” it. Most likely the recently released ios 5 has delayed the P90X app’s release.
